Getting an education for the sake of learning is a wonderful thing. However, in the job market, not all degrees are made equal. Some degrees will be hot commodities in the new job market, but there are some other degrees that unfortunately are worth as much as the paper they are printed on. In the current economy, 31% of recent graduates were unable to secure a job six months after graduation. What degree you have may determine whether the odds are in your favor or not.
This graphic shows some of the worst degrees in terms of landing a job. The information was determined by the number of college graduates with certain degrees unemployed six months after after graduating. Note that recent graduates may not be employed in their field of study, only exacerbating how dire certain degrees are in the job market. Thus, though majoring in a field like Art History may sound fun, it may not be fun being an unemployed art historian.

Useless degree -- anything that doesn’t have to do with education in the public/private school systems, engineering, medicine, science, where you can’t get the knowledge and training elsewhere. Otherwise, liberal arts degrees are “fluff papers.” Just sucking you off to make you feel good. College for useless degrees is one of the biggest scams out there… You don’t need a degree to be successful in business and be able to tell a copier from a stapler, or a shovel from an axe, or a cutting torch from a welding machine. I know, because I have a masters in vocational rehab and I’m not using it…
